A health fair will be held from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, June 28 at Lucerne Valley Market to help move forward plans for the Hunter Harbor Community Resource Center.

The event will offer health services such as vital signs checked by Azusa Pacific University students, give-a-ways provided by His Closet, and a county In Home Supportive Services will be on hand to answer questions. The fair also will offer balloons, face painting and tent prizes.

Information on Celebrate Recovery, which meets twice a week at Crossroads Chapel Church, also will be offered.

Hunter Harbor is a non-profit corporation that will provide counseling resources for families in need. The cornerstone is a transitional housing facility to be built in a peaceful area of Lucerne Valley, according to founder Angie Smith.

Smith, who has a master’s degree in psychology, has envisioned Hunter Harbor for nearly 10 years. The facility also will offer medical and psychiatric services, mental health counseling, educational opportunities, life skills workshops and employee referrals.

Celebrate Recovery is a Christ-centered recovery program based on the eight principles of the Beatitudes. It addresses food addiction, emotional upsets, co-dependency, divorce, domestic violence, drug addiction, sexual abuse, alcoholism and gambling addictions.

Crossroads Chapel U-Turn Center is located at 32525 Highway 18. For more information on Celebrate Recovery or Hunter Harbor, call 760-220-3287.
